Stephen
Hues Choreographer
Biography
Stephen Hues has entertained and
inspired audiences with his
high-octane, larger than
life multi-media theater
performances in the Theaters,
Galleries, Cabaret Spaces and
Streets of Los Angeles, Black
Rock City, NYC,
Montréal, Toronto,
Vancouver, London
and Berlin. He recently
choreographed the world première
Children's Opera 'KEEPERS Of The
NIGHT' for the Los Angeles
Children's Chorus, Conducted by
Grant Gershon and Directed by
Corey Madden. With Corey he taught
ensemble exercises, movement
explorations and character
development to 65 kids in
Opera Camp prior to beginning the
rehearsal process. In the fall of
2006 he taught a three week
workshop at the Stella Adler
Institute in Hollywood, on
Character Development Through
Movement Analysis. In the winter
of 2006 he choreographed a major
revival of the 1960s iconic
'American Tribal Love-Rock
Musical, HAIR', for Canadian
Stage, Toronto, Directed by Robert
Prior. Since relocating to Los
Angeles from Montréal, Canada,
Stephen has collaborated often
with Robert to create large
scale spectacles. After an
engagement at the renowned La Mama
ETC, their work RAMAYANA 2K3
earned 5 New York City Drama Desk
Award Nominations, including
'Outstanding Choreography' and
'Unique Theatrical Experience' for
the 2003-'04 NYC season.
In the Studio or on Set, Stephen
tries to create a safe & sacred environment
to work & explore in. He believes in
the Big Picture. Stephen enjoys giving
workshops in dance, and character
movement development, for Professionals to First
Timers. When not choreographing he
